Trip cost

Goa trip cost from Bengaluru: 4 days for two in 2026

A 4-day Goa trip cost from Bengaluru for two adults is about ₹21,800 on a budget (overnight sleeper bus or the 17309 train), ₹58,300 mid-range (flights, a 3-star stay) and ₹1,41,900 premium, including a 10% buffer. The non-stop flight takes about 1h–1h 15m, buses and the daily train about 12–14 hours, and November to February is the main season. Key takeaways

  • Plan about ₹10,900 per person by bus or train, or about ₹29,000 per person flying mid-range.
  • Off-peak fares were about ₹2,500–4,500 one way, but December–January fares can reach ₹8,000–14,000.
  • The daily Yesvantpur–Vasco Express (17309) leaves Bengaluru in the afternoon and passes Dudhsagar Falls before reaching Madgaon in the small hours.
  • Many Bengaluru travellers prefer quieter South Goa; land at Dabolim (GOI) for it, or at Mopa (GOX) for North Goa.

How the travel line is built

Budget: a KSRTC Airavat Club Class semi-sleeper at about ₹1,300 a seat each way (listed at about ₹1,100–1,450), so ₹1,300 × 4 = ₹5,200. A sleeper berth on a KSRTC Ambari Utsav or private AC sleeper costs about ₹1,500–2,100, and the 17309 train in sleeper or 3AC usually costs less than either.

Mid-range: four flight sectors at about ₹4,500, the top of the off-peak range we saw.

Premium: about ₹10,000 a sector, inside the ₹8,000–14,000 range reported for December–January.

Everything after arrival (stay, local transport, food and activities) uses the same Goa figures as our Mumbai and Pune cost guides, so you can compare cities line by line.

Short break: fly. A flight of just over an hour gives you an extra day on the beach.

Tight budget: a night sleeper bus costs about a third of the cheapest off-peak airfare, and you arrive in the morning ready for the beach.

For the view: the 17309 train crosses the Western Ghats between Castle Rock and Kulem and passes right beside Dudhsagar Falls, which is at its fullest from July to October. The catch is the arrival at Madgaon in the small hours, so book a hotel that allows early check-in. Some sites show the departure as 15:00 rather than 15:30, so confirm on NTES. For a train-only plan, see Goa in 3 days by train.

Bus drop-off points matter: buses stop at Mapusa and Panaji for North Goa and at Margao for South Goa. Pick the stop nearest your hotel and you save a ₹800–1,500 taxi ride.

Where should Bengaluru travellers stay in Goa?

Goa areas compared
AreaTypical room (per night)Best forNearest arrival point
Calangute–Baga₹1,500–5,000Nightlife, water sports, first tripMopa, Thivim, Mapusa bus stand
Anjuna–Vagator₹1,800–6,000Cafés, sunsets, young groupsMopa, Mapusa

Palolem–Agonda₹2,500–8,000 (beach huts)Couples, quiet, calm swimmingDabolim, Canacona station

Palolem and Agonda are favourites with Bengaluru couples who want a slower trip. Palolem's beach huts open for the season around October–November, and the bay is calmer for swimming than most North Goa beaches.

Where the money goes in Goa

Stay: budget assumes about ₹2,000 a night; mid-range about ₹5,000 for a 3-star with a pool; premium about ₹15,000 for a beach resort. The government-run Calangute Residency charges ₹3,400–5,350 a night before GST until 22 December 2026, a useful price check.

Getting around: non-geared scooters cost about ₹200–500 a day; GoaMiles app taxis charge about ₹21.50–26 a km plus time charges. If you land at Dabolim and stay in North Goa, the transfer is about 1h–1h 30m, so match your airport to your hotel.

Food and activities: a beach-shack dinner for two in Baga is listed at about ₹2,100, while local thalis cost ₹150–300. Water-sports combos cost about ₹1,400–2,500 a person. In South Goa, a boat trip from Palolem to Butterfly Beach and Honeymoon Beach costs a few hundred rupees a person; agree the price and time on the beach.

When is Goa cheapest from Bengaluru?

Flights are cheapest in September and October (about ₹2,500–4,500 one way) and dearest in late December and early January (₹8,000–14,000). For good weather at fair prices, go in early November, mid-January or February. Long weekends empty Bengaluru towards Goa too, so book buses at least two weeks ahead for them. How to cut the Goa trip cost from Bengaluru

  1. Take the overnight bus one way and fly the other. You save about ₹3,000–6,000 for two without losing a beach day.
  2. Book flights 4–6 weeks ahead for November and February. Off-peak fares can be half of last-minute fares.
  3. Match the airport to your area. Dabolim for South Goa, Mopa for North Goa.
  4. Rent a scooter if you hold a valid licence; it is the cheapest way around.
  5. Stay a short walk from the beach, not on it. Rooms two or three lanes back cost far less.
  6. Avoid the Christmas–New Year week. Rooms and flights can double or triple.

Our recommendation

For most Bengaluru couples, an overnight sleeper bus and a South Goa beach hut make an easy 4-day trip for about ₹22,000 for two. If you only have a long weekend, fly and spend about ₹58,000.
