Do Indians need a Singapore visa?

Yes. India is on Singapore’s visa-required list. The visa is usually issued electronically, but it is not the same as permission to enter: the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority decides admission and the length of stay at the checkpoint.

Use the authorised-agent list linked by the Singapore High Commission. Do not assume that a general travel agency, online advertisement or social-media account is authorised.

How do Indians apply for a Singapore visa?

  1. Choose an authorised visa agent serving your area.
  2. Complete and sign Form 14A.
  3. Provide the passport biodata-page copy, recent photograph and supporting documents requested.
  4. Pay the official fee and the agent’s stated service charge.
  5. Track the application through the agent and retain the e-Visa copy when approved.

ICA also permits an application through an eligible local contact or strategic partner in Singapore. For most leisure travellers applying from India, the authorised-agent route is the practical option.

What documents are required?

Core Singapore visa documents
Document Official point
Form 14A Complete and sign accurately
Passport biodata page Passport valid for at least six months from entry
Colour photograph Taken within the last three months; follow the official photo specification
Supporting papers Additional documents, including Form V39A, may be requested case by case

The New Delhi mission states that Hindi documents, including official notes, should be translated into English. An agent may request further trip or financial documents to assemble the submission, but applicants do not have to buy a flight before applying; buying one early is at the traveller’s risk.

How much does a Singapore visa cost?

The official visa-processing fee is S$30 and is non-refundable. Authorised agents add a service charge, which varies by agent and location. Ask for an itemised receipt showing the Singapore fee and the agency charge.

At a planning exchange rate of about ₹66 per Singapore dollar checked in October 2026, S$30 is roughly ₹1,980. Exchange rates and agent charges change, so use the final rupee amount quoted on the payment date.

How long does processing take?

The Singapore High Commission in New Delhi gives a general processing time of 3–5 working days, excluding the submission date, weekends and public holidays. Some applications take longer, so the stated period is guidance rather than a guarantee.

ICA advises applying within 30 days before arrival. Leave a practical margin for document corrections and public holidays instead of filing immediately before departure.

What is the SG Arrival Card?

The SG Arrival Card is a free electronic arrival declaration, separate from the visa. Travellers generally submit it through ICA within three days before arrival, including the arrival date. Use only the official ICA service or MyICA app.

After arrival, most short-term visitors receive an electronic Visit Pass by email. It states the stay granted and the last permitted day; the visa validity itself does not tell you how long you may remain on each visit.

What should you carry when travelling?

  • Passport and printed or offline e-Visa copy
  • SG Arrival Card acknowledgement
  • Confirmed onward or return travel
  • Accommodation details
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the stay
  • Any documents relevant to the purpose of the visit

Check that the passport number and personal details on the e-Visa match the passport. Contact the agent before travel if anything is wrong.

Does a Singapore visa guarantee entry?

No. A visa allows you to travel to Singapore and seek entry. ICA officers determine admission and the stay granted. Give accurate answers and keep the visit consistent with the visa and declared purpose.

How can you avoid common problems?

Use an agent from the current official list, follow the photo specification and avoid non-refundable travel arrangements until you are comfortable with the risk. Never pay someone who claims they can guarantee approval or influence ICA.

How do you choose an authorised agent?

Open the agent list from the Singapore High Commission website and use the contact details shown there. Check that the business name and location match before sharing passport copies or paying. An old screenshot or blog recommendation is not enough.

Ask for the current service charge, submission method, checklist and correction process. Paying for a courier or preparation service does not improve the immigration decision.

What photo rules apply?

The New Delhi mission specifies a colour photo taken within three months, 35 mm by 45 mm, without a border and against a plain white background. The face and upper shoulders should be visible, with even exposure and open eyes.

Spectacle frames must not obscure the eyes and lenses should not show glare. Follow the current mission and agent specification instead of reusing an old visa photo.

How long is the visa valid?

The e-Visa states its validity and journeys. This is the period in which you may seek entry, not the stay length. The electronic Visit Pass issued after admission records the stay granted.

What about transit?

Transit depends on whether you clear immigration, collect baggage or use separate tickets. Ask the airline about the exact connection. The Visa Free Transit Facility has specific nationality, route and document conditions and is not a general substitute for a visitor visa.

This guide provides general travel information, not legal or immigration advice. Official Singapore sources and the decision of immigration authorities control.

What happens if details are wrong?

Check the name, passport number, date of birth and validity when the e-Visa arrives. Send discrepancies to the authorised agent before travelling. Do not edit the PDF yourself or assume an airline will accept a mismatch.

A new passport after issuance can affect travel because the visa is tied to passport particulars. Ask the agent or ICA for the correct procedure.

How should a family apply?

Prepare a separate complete application for every traveller, including children. Keep family dates and accommodation consistent while ensuring each form uses the correct personal details.

Store the e-Visas and SG Arrival Card acknowledgements together, but retain individual copies. This helps if the group reaches different counters or a phone is unavailable.
